Sizzler Viewer is a Cyberdog-savvy part viewer that displays Sizzler animation. Sizzler animation is a streaming animation format that is optimized for low speed data delivery. SizzlerViewer displays Sizzler animation as it is received over the Internet.
How to install this part
OpenDoc (1.0.4 or greater) and Cyberdog (1.0 or greater) are required to use the SizzlerViewer part. Install these first before installing the SizzlerViewer part. Drop the SizzlerViewer part into the Editors folder inside your System Folder. In addition you need to add some entries within Internet Config if you want the Sizzler icons to appear inside the notebook, log, and CyberItems that you drag to the desktop. To do this, open Internet Config and click on the "File Mappings" button or choose "File Mappings" from the "Window" menu. Within this window click the "Add" button. In the "Mapping Entry" dialog enter the following information:
Name: Sizzler
Extension: sprite
MIME Type: application/x-sprite
Select "Binary Data" from the choices given
Click "OK" and once again repeat the above process with the following information:
Name: Sizzler
Extension: spr
MIME Type: application/x-sprite
Select "Binary Data" from the choices given
After this you may need to rebuild the desktop file (Hold down Cmd-Option while your machine is starting up) in order to see these changes take effect. Once this is done, the sample files included in this package will have the Sizzler icons.
How to use this part
Included are some CyberItems that point to Sizzler animation on the Web. Just double-click and the SizzlerViewer will show you the animation as it arrives. You can also embed the files into OpenDoc containers such as DocBuilder and ClarisWorks 5.0. The links to the Web are preserved and will be displayed live the next time you open that document.
Sizzler animation can be created using the Sizzler application and WebPainter, both of which are available on the Totally Hip Software web site (http://www.totallyhip.com). Complete instructions on creating your own Sizzler animation and posting them to your web site can be found at this address.
In addition, if you browse a web site that uses Sizzler, the SizzlerViewer will display the animation. You can then use the log to drag the reference to the animation to your notebook, DocBuilder, or any other OpenDoc container.
Demo Limitations/Bugs
・ No known bugs at this time
・ "Draw Transparent" may give varying results based on the part that the SizzlerViewer is embedded within.
・ You may need to increase memory sizes as animation is a very memory intensive process.
